This weekend, we received a report of some Killer Whales on the north side of Orcas Island traveling east. We headed in that direction and it wasn’t long before we spotted the orcas! It was T049C and T049A2, the same two males that have been hanging around the San Juan Islands the last couple of weeks.
It wasn’t long however, before another whale watching boat spotted a big group of Killer Whales in the distance. We headed over to check it out and it turned out to be a group of 17 Bigg’s Killer Whales including the T123, T034, T037, and T036A families! It was awesome to see this many whales hanging out together. There has been lots of whales around this spring, we can’t wait to get back out whale watching!
